President’s Corner
Greetings and Happy Summer Ladies of IAW!
We all knew the Illinois ‘spring’ would be short-lived this year and we would proceed “full throttle” into Summer. So hang onto your hats as we Rock and Roll with IAW functions, gatherings and activities!
The IAW May Regional Meeting at the Mighty Vine Hydroponic Farm in Rochelle was a great experience and very educational. We were fortunate to walk away with some very delicious produce, too. I cannot thank Deb Schultz enough for all of her awesome tour ideas/locations we have been able to visit over the past nine months.
If you have a tour idea or a venue in your area which you would like to suggest for a future IAW Region Meeting, don’t hesitate to let Deb Schultz or myself know.
While I know November and the 2018 AAW Convention seems far off – it is only a short 6 months away; I truly hope you are planning on attending even if it is only for just one day. The Convention Planning Committee continues to work fast and furiously securing donations to offset expenses as well as Illinois products to fill our Hospitality Suite. Don’t hesitate to reach out to Susie, Heather, myself or anyone else on the planning committee if you have possible sponsor/donor contact information or items you would like to share with the Hospitality committee. We are in the process of creating an agri-women history making and memory filled event and we would love to have your input and involvement, too.
While I am sure most of the planting is complete in your part of the neighborhood – please be careful out there in farm country and agribusiness parts beyond. May a ‘hedge of protection’ always surround you and your family in your daily journey.
Warm regards and hope to see you soon!
