2025 Central Illinois Region Tour

Join Illinois Agri-Women Friday, June 6 as we check out three agriculture related points of interest in the Bloomington/Normal area.

9 AM: Meet at History Museum and tour on your own – McLean County Museum of History: 200 N Main St, Bloomington
9:30 AM: Librarian Bill Kemp speaks on livestock movement to Chicago Pre Semi-Trucks
11:00 AM: Tour of Heartland CC Ag Complex – 1500 W Raab Rd, Normal (bldg. west of main campus)
12:30 PM: DeStihl Brewery – 1200 Greenbriar Dr, Normal, IL, Lunch on your own and remarks by a local craft brewer
1:30 PM WCFA Planning Meeting – Heartland CC Ag Complex – 1500 W Raab Rd, Normal (bldg. west of main campus)

Cost for the event for lunch is $20.

Please Join Illinois Agri-Women as we visit three Bloomington/Normal agriculture points of interest.

  • Our adventure will begin at the McLean County Museum of History 200 N. Main St., Bloomington, IL, 9:30 AM. Bill Kemp, Librarian will share history of livestock movement to Chicago pre-semi-truck trailers and rail cars. Followed by a self-guided tour throughout the courthouse. This facility is an AAM accredited institution located in Bloomington, Illinois. It is the principal asset of the McLean County Historical Society, an Illinois nonprofit organization which was founded in 1892.
  • At the conclusion of the museum visit, we will proceed to north Normal to visit the newly established Heartland Community College Agriculture Complex, 1608 W Raab Rd,  Normal. This 29,500 square foot new facility is located west of the main campus and stands by itself with parking lot in front.
  • The final stop is scheduled for 12:30 pm and will find us at the DeStihl Brewery and Beer Hall, 1200 Greenbriar Dr, Normal, IL. Brewers will share the DeStihl story/history with members as we enjoy lunch on your own.  Menu choices will be shared when you RSVP for the tour. Watch for a registration link to appear in your email in the very near future.
